George
Gagnon -- Ed. D. (on left) is a teacher educator who has studied
learning
for thirty years and designs Math Models, guides, learning
records,
and "modeling learning" sessions for teachers. He is currently
the Pre-Engineering Partnerships (PEP) Director at the University of
California,
Berkeley. George learns about life with Michelle
Collay
-- Ph.D. (on right) who is an Associate Professor and Director of the
Urban Teacher Leadership Program at California State University, East
Bay. Together we write about professional
development,
constructivist learning design, and assessment, and we are
working on new pieces about learning communities, educational equity,
and
schooling parents. Much of our work is posted on this website
with
links provided below. Our books about Learning
Circles for Professional Development and Constructivist
Learning Design are available from Corwin Press.
Louie
Kubala
(below on right) created prototypes of many models at his plant in St.
Paul. Louie passed away in March of 1999 as he was working in his shop.
His contribution to putting our ideas into reality was invaluable, and
we miss his creativity.
